Oak Hill School is a small provision for pupils aged 11-16, all of whom have an EHCP in the category of Social, Emotional and Mental Health. We currently have 51 pupils on roll. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join us from 6th January 2025. The successful applicant will support pupils both on a 1:1 and class basis, and will be based primarily within the PE department.
This is a permanent post.
Oak Hill School is a warm and welcoming school where the pastoral care is at the forefront of everything we do. We build close relationships with our pupils and their families and this gives us the bedrock from which we can work with our cohort to help them all achieve their potential and make their school days happy, fulfilling and purposeful. This nurturing environment is extended to our staff team where we pride ourselves on looking after our teachers and support staff in the same way as we do our pupils.
All lessons have a high staff to pupil ratio - a member of our team of highly experienced and skilled LSAs and support staff supports teachers in every lesson. We have high expectations of our pupils in terms of behaviour and work output and all staff are trained and encouraged in their development of effective behaviour management skills.
Oak Hill School complies fully with the ethos of safer recruitment and will undertake all relevant safeguarding checks. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. References will be sought before interview. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information which would make them unsuitable for the position and will be subject to an online check. We welcome and strongly encourage visits to the school prior to application and/or interview
